2017 [email protected] – SATURDAY 27 MAY

Saturday afternoon May 27 will see the fifth running of the [email protected] from Rotary Park, Wongaling.
While this event started as a modest fundraiser for the Mission Beach SLSC with about 30 starters, it has grown to the extent we would hope to have over 100 runners this year.
Now conducted by the Cassowary Coast Multisport Club, 2017 will see the introduction of a “Corporate Relay”.
Businesses, council, schools and any other group are encouraged to gather teams of 2, 3 or 4 runners to complete the 21 km of the Half Marathon as a relay. Winning teams of male, female or mixed runners will vie for the CASSOWARY COAST CORPORATE CUP.
The runs, which also include the individual half marathon, 10 kms, and a 5 km Fun Run are run entirely on Mission’s firm beaches.
The entry fees are modest with under 12’s free in the 5 km run or walk. One of the highlights last year were the mums or dads pushing strollers.
Individuals and teams can enter at by simply typing in Beachruns at Find an Event on the site.
There are winner’s cash and other prizes, trophies, finisher ribbons and giveaways.
With around four weeks to go, ramp up your training for your selected event, and get online and register.
For further updates go to our Facebook page or contact Jeff on 0434 019 515.

Cassowary Coast Multisport Club was founded in 2013. Our not-for-profit sporting organisation was developed after a number of discussions and ‘discovery’ runs & rides with people from across the Cassowary Coast region. Most of the core group who established the club were originally  involved in organising the OnaMission Multisport Adventure Race. The club now runs a number of regional events with ‘active’ locals of all ages and abilities, including full families. The club has also established a mountain bike park at South Mission Beach and is continually working on establishing more off-road trails for mountain bikers and connecting with existing regional mountain bike initiatives. Our aim is to get out there and enjoy the great outdoors as much as possible and to introduce others to trail running, mountain biking, road riding and paddling. We also work with other clubs and with charities. The World Heritage tropical rainforest in the Cassowary Coast region presents world-class trails, rivers, waterfalls and experiences. CCMC is actively playing a part in establishing a network of both active locals and local mountain bike trails in our region and plans to develop further infrastructure.
